Coming Out at 30: ego andaluz’s DRAW featured by Swiss magazine akut

Seeing DRAW, my latest three-part linocut series, featured by Swiss magazine akut feels particularly special to me. It has been one of my favorite Swiss magazines for a while, so finding my own work there is a pretty beautiful moment.


DRAW takes me back to the time before I came out at 30, when being hidden had become unbearable, but being visible still felt dangerous. That tension became Break, Contested and Reach, three large-scale linocuts about identity, fear and the moment when something can no longer remain as it was.


I’m also happy to see this very personal, queer work finding its place in a broader cultural conversation.
