At the end of April, I’ll be in Berlin showing five works as part of QUEER UNFRAMING, a group exhibition curated by Julian Daynov in collaboration with BOLD. If you’re around during Gallery Weekend, come by. I’ll be there and happy to show the work in person.
The exhibition is built around the idea of shifting how queer work is usually presented. Not as something separate or marginal, but as part of a broader contemporary conversation.
I’m showing two series that both deal with how bodies become visible, and how that visibility is shaped.
Before & After looks at desire and saturation. The two works sit close to each other: one in anticipation, the other after fulfillment. It’s less about contrast and more about a shift — what changes once there is no lack anymore, only excess.
With Figures of Desire, I’m presenting a new series. At its core are bodies that are aware of being seen — and stage themselves accordingly. Their poses and gestures aren’t spontaneous; they are deliberate. Within the series, Unperformed marks a rupture. The figure remains present, but no longer performs for attention. It’s precisely in this shift that the central tension of the series emerges — a movement away from performance toward a form of presence that no longer defines itself through competition, youth, or approval.
I’m especially pleased that the works will be shown during Gallery Weekend Berlin. It gives many people the opportunity to experience the pieces in person. This matters in particular with linocuts, where the physical encounter reveals how pressure, ink, and surface interact.
I’ll be there throughout the exhibition and would love to meet you. Feel free to reach out or just stop by.
