My Work at ODD Kiosk Barcelona — And Why It Matters

Imagine walking through a street in Barcelona and suddenly coming across a kiosk entirely dedicated to queer art, magazines, and stories. Open to the city, visible to anyone passing by, and impossible to ignore. That is what makes ODD Kiosk feel so special.

Three of my works, Narcissus, Thirsty, and Dancer, are now available at ODD Kiosk in Barcelona. I am genuinely happy about it. Not just because my prints are being sold somewhere new, but because of what this place represents.

Queer artists are still often pushed to the margins. Our work is labelled as “niche”, “too explicit”, “too political”, or simply “not commercial enough.” We are highly visible during Pride month and far less visible the rest of the year.

Spaces like ODD Kiosk refuse that logic. They focus on queer art, queer publishing, and queer narratives not as a trend or decoration, but as their core identity. They create a space where our stories are not softened, censored, or reframed to make others more comfortable.

That matters.

To have my work placed in a space that understands the politics of visibility feels right.

For me, as ego andaluz, as someone with Andalusian and Portuguese roots, having my work present in Spain carries an additional layer. It feels connected. It feels grounded. It feels like being part of a wider queer network that does not stop at borders.

If you are in Barcelona, visit ODD Kiosk. Have a look. Take your time. Support them. Institutions like this do not simply appear. They are built, maintained, and sustained by community. I am proud that my work is now part of that ecosystem.
