PRIVATE PARTY – My Work on View at Anggrek Agency, Zurich

Updated: 2 days ago

On 26 December, I presented three of my works as part of PRIVATE PARTY, a curated group exhibition at Anggrek Agency in Zurich. The exhibition opened with a private viewing for invited guests and is accessible until January 3rd 2026 by appointment.

PRIVATE PARTY is a show that deliberately blurs the boundary between celebration and exhibition-making. Conceived by Steven Anggrek, the exhibition evolved from a series of intimate gatherings into a curated format that reflects on friendship, authorship, and the social life of Zurich’s art community.

Within this context, my work was shown alongside a diverse group of international and local artists, including Steven Anggrek himself, Maria Pomiansky, Marcelot, Lin Zhipeng (aka 223), Luca Varano, Una Szeemann, John T. D. Murphy, Daniel C. Müller, Moussa David Saleh, Matéo Picant Laurent, Antoine Medes, Massimiliano Rossetto, Hanspeter Ammann, and Stuart Sandford. The exhibition brought together photography, painting, and printmaking, creating a dialogue around intimacy, collaboration, and self-representation without losing the individuality of each position.

The Works of ego andaluz on View

The exhibition brought together Ready Daddy, Narcissus, and Locker Room Crush, three linocuts produced in 2025. Shown together, the works explore male desire, self-awareness, and queer visibility through the printed body.

Ready Daddy, from the series Before & After, was presented for the first time ever at this exhibition. The work depicts a male body in a state of readiness and anticipation. Rather than release, the image is defined by tension. Ready daddy is holding the promise of what is about to happen.

Narcissus, from the series Spotlight Studies, reflects on self-perception in an age of constant visibility. Detached from narrative context, the figure turns inward, sustained not by external attention but by the circulation of the self as image. The body becomes both subject and object, absorbed in its own reflection.

Locker Room Crush addresses a moment many gay men experience early on. Set in the everyday environment of a shared locker room, the work captures the instant when awareness shifts and attraction becomes undeniable. A situation turns into recognition, and with it, a clearer understanding of one’s own sexuality.

Two of the works were presented in black and white, a deliberate formal shift within my practice, which is otherwise characterised by colour. This reduction foregrounds line, pressure, and material, making the physical act of printing more visible and direct.

Visiting the Exhibition

The exhibition is open until 3 January 2026 and can be visited by private appointment. Viewings can be arranged either directly through Anggrek Agency or by contacting me.
